“If you seek a substantive engagement with the intellectual life of the University, I hope you will take advantage of this opportunity to explore the Holy Land from the unique perspective that Notre Dame can provide.”
Rev. John I. Jenkins, C.S.C.
President
University of Notre Dame
icture a land of deserts, lush oases with gently flowing springs, mountains, fresh and salt water lakes, and villages, towns, and cities whose names have resonated throughout history.
Picture a land standing at the crossroads of several civilizations that is the cradle of the world’s three major monotheistic religions and that still tells the stories of the many peoples, prophets, armies, and pilgrims that have tread upon its soil. This is the Holy Land, the focal point of some of the most dramatic and important events in history.
Here, Christian, Jewish, and Islamic history, thought and belief are intertwined and co-exist on land considered holy by countless millions. Here you will engage in thoughtful dialogue and pursue a deeper understanding of the multifaceted relationship, past and present, of the three Abrahamic faiths on the land from which they arose.
Join us at the beautiful Tantur Ecumenical Institute in May to explore the Holy Land in a very special program designed for active learning and personal discovery and enrichment.
Together with a talented faculty, you will enjoy thought-provoking lectures, private visits, revealing walking tours, and trips to sites of great historic importance and deep religious significance.
Explore the Holy Land with us and discover why a 2008 program participant wrote, “I don’t believe a better program exists. It was everything I had hoped for: comprehensive, relevant, incisive, balanced, and spiritual. The program exceeded my expectations.”
I hope you will come with us to Tantur in May to experience the Holy Land in an extraordinary way.
